France prepares “survival” guide to help citizens invade, nuclear war – state

French authorities are preparing to release emergency preparation manuals to help people with the possibility of invasions, natural disasters and other potential threats.

A spokesman for French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou told CNN on Wednesday that the survival manual, which is currently being developed, is “designed to encourage citizens to face different crises in order to develop their resilience.”

“This includes natural disasters, technical and cyber incidents, health crises such as Covid-19 and security crises such as terrorist attacks and armed conflicts,” she continued.

According to media reports, the brochure can be sent in the summer before the Prime Minister’s approval and will be supplemented with suggestions made on existing government websites.

The manual will be divided into sections under the guidance of how to protect yourself and your peers, how to deal with imminent threats, and includes a list of urgent numbers and actions in the event of nuclear threats.

In addition, French authorities released a chart of the recommended 72-hour survival kit, which shows a backpack filled with items people may need in an emergency, including reservoirs, copies of important documents, a pile of canned food, basic medical supplies, batteries, cash, cash and torches, etc.

“Power outages of electricity, gasoline and water, impassable roads… When a disaster is a major disaster, the initial 72 hours are usually the most stressful. This pre-prepared kit will allow you to stay at home more calmly while waiting for help. This will also be very useful in the event of a sudden departure,” the description of the figure says.

It is recommended that people keep their kit in an easy-to-access box and check out expired medications, foods, and other items every year.

France follows lawsuits from countries such as Sweden and Denmark, whose governments have released similar resources.

Earlier this month, French President Emmanuel Macron announced plans to increase the country's military reserves from 40,000 to 100,000 over the next 10 years.

“Our country and our continent must continue to defend themselves, equip themselves, and be prepared to prepare,” Macron said on a visit to a military base in France on Tuesday.

“This is a choice we make and will continue to make. No one can say what will happen in the months and years to come.”

Global News has contacted Canadian Public Safety to see if Canada has similar manuals, but has not received any responses through publication time.
