France warns escalating war with Iran
Following the U.S. attack on Iran’s nuclear facility, France called on all participants to exercise constraints to avoid escalation and expansion of the conflict.
Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said on Sunday that France firmly believes that only a negotiated solution within the framework of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty can achieve a durable solution to the nuclear dispute.
He said Paris is still ready to contribute to this with its partners.
Balotel said France was neither involved in the U.S. attack nor their preparations. He said they expressed concern about the attacks on three Iranian nuclear sites overnight.
France repeatedly expressed its strong opposition to Iran's chances of obtaining nuclear weapons.
