Francis' Pope-Mobile is transformed into Gaza Mobile Children's Clinic

The Vatican confirmed that Pope Francis’s “Pope Motorcycle” (a vehicle designed to protect the pope during a 2014 trip to the birthplace of Jesus Christ – a mobile children’s clinic in Gaza is transforming according to the dying wish of the Father.
The Catholic nonprofit Caritas Jerusalem made the announcement Sunday.
In its final months, the nonprofit said Francis instructed humanitarian groups to “turn the Pope motorcycle into a mobile health station for children in Gaza.”
“The purpose of this initiative is to uphold and uphold the fundamental rights and dignity of children,” wrote Caritas Jerusalem.

Swedish Secretary-General Peter Brune, who supports the program, said the vehicle “will be able to reach children who do not have access to health care today – injured and malnourished children.”
“It's a concrete, life-saving intervention at a time when Gaza's health system is almost completely collapsed,” Brian said in a statement. “It's not just a car, but the message that the world hasn't forgotten about Gaza's children.”
“This car represents the love, care and intimacy he showed for the most vulnerable holiness, which he expressed throughout the crisis,” said the Secretary-General of Caritas Jerusalem Anton Asfar in a statement.
Swedish Cardinal Anders Arborelius, Francis, became the next pope contender after it was adopted on April 21 – also confirmed the reuse of the Pope's motorcycles for The New York Times.
“Papamobile is a very specific sign that Pope Francis is concerned about all the sufferings of children in Gaza even after his death!” Arborelius wrote to The Times.
The same day the Bishop Charity Network dealt with the “Pope-Mobile” project markedly slammed the Trump administration's cuts to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in February.
“Stop USAID will kill millions of people and condemn the poverty that has been killed by hundreds of millions of people,” said Alistair Dutton, secretary general of the Carita International Committee, at the time. “This is an inhuman insult to people’s God-given human dignity, which will cause great pain. Killing USAID also presents a huge challenge for all of us in the global humanitarian community, who will have to completely reassess what we can continue to serve and how we serve.”
As the department undergoes a massive restructuring, the State Department has integrated the rest of the U.S. Agency for International Development.

According to the Times, Francis approved the “Pope Motorcycle” project in November 2024. According to USA Today, the Catholic Church was presented with a new, all-electric “Pope motorcycle” that the church was based on a Mercedes-Benz G-Class in December.
The Vatican official news source Vatican News also announced the news. The vehicle will be equipped by “drivers and doctors” and is currently being equipped with equipment for diagnosis, examination and treatment, including rapid testing of infections, suture kits, syringes and needles, oxygen supply, oxygen supply, vaccines and medication refrigerators.
“The humanitarian situation in Gaza is becoming increasingly important, especially for nearly one million displaced children,” wrote Caritas, Jerusalem. “Children are often the first and worst hit when cutting off food, water and health care. Hunger, infections and other preventable conditions put their lives at risk.”
According to the nonprofit, Francis “took his Pope motorcycle (Caritas Jerusalem) to Jerusalem and now turned it into a mobile health department for children,” according to the nonprofit. “It will be ready to provide primary health care for children in Gaza when the humanitarian corridors of Gaza reopen.”
Francis has repeatedly called for a ceasefire in Gaza during the Israeli Hamas War, which began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas terrorists killed more than 1,200 people in Israel and brought hundreds of people to Gaza hostages.

The late pope increasingly condemns the Israeli military's reaction and the death of Palestinian children.
In his last Easter speech before his death, Francis said the humanitarian situation was “dramatic and pathetic.”
