Gene Hackman died of heart disease

Gene Hackman's main cause of death is heart disease, but he is also in the late stages of Alzheimer's disease and is likely not eaten for a long time.
The report records the 95-year-old actor's poor heart health and notes that he experienced congestive heart failure, aortic valve replacement and irregular heartbeat. In April 2019, he was given a pacemaker. Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, were found dead in February at their New Mexico residence.
Hackman has a carbon monoxide concentration of less than 5% saturation, which is within the normal range. He tested negative for Hanta virus, a rare but potentially fatal disease that spreads in infected rodent feces. Authorities said Alakava could die at home due to Hanta virus pulmonary syndrome on February 11. Her autopsy report has not been released yet.
Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman may have died of a heart attack, and a week later, his wife, Betsy Arakawa, died in Hantavirus in another room in New Mexico, U.S. investigators say. Police say Hackman's dementia may be a contributor to his death.
Toxicology reports that Hackman tested negative for alcohol and drunken drugs, but his system had low concentrations of acetone, indicating prolonged fasting.
Hackman seems to have been past Arakawa for about a week and may not realize she is dead. His pacemaker showed abnormal heart rhythm on February 18, according to the state's chief medical examiner.
The couple's body was not discovered until February 26. Hackman was found near the sugar cane at the entrance and Arakawa was found on the bathroom floor.
Records released earlier in the investigation showed that Arakawa made a phone call and searched the internet for information about flu symptoms and respiratory technology.

Recently released videos outline the scope of investigation into the deaths of Hackman and Arakawa.
Before they learned how Hackman and Arakawa died, authorities documented themselves interviewing workers and returned to Hackman's home to find more evidence. Detectives searched for Arakawa's laptop and other clues in early March.
