Germany bans the largest “imperial citizen” group and raid leaders' houses

Berlin (AP) – The German government has banned the largest group of “Imperial Citizens”, an extreme far-right group that calls itself the “kingdom of Germany” and seeks to undermine the country’s democratic order.
Hundreds of security forces in several states have been searching for the association’s property and homes of leading members since the early hours of Tuesday.
“The members of the association have established an “anti-state” in our country and have established an economic crime structure,” said Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt.
“We will take decisive action against those who attack our basic order of liberal democracy,” Dobrindt added.
The so-called “imperial citizens” or the Imperial people's movement does not recognize Germany as a country. Many of them claim that the historic German Empire still exists, ignoring the democratic and constitutional structures of the country, such as parliament, law or courts.
