Morgan Cheatham joins Breyer Capital As a partner and director of healthcare and life sciences. To take on the role at Breyer, Cheatham left Bessemer Venture Partners, Vice President focused on healthcare and life sciences.

Butterfly MedicalThis is the lowest invasive treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia, and James Ulchaker is welcomed as Chief Medical Officer. He joined the company from the Cleveland Clinic, where he worked as a urologist and surgeon for nearly 30 years.

Professional nursing platform later Appointed as Falko Buttler as new chief technology officer. In the past, he has held executive positions at companies including Accolade and Plushcare.

Modern HealthIt's a mental health platform for the workplace, hiring Matt Levin as the new CEO. He succeeded Alyson Watson, founder of Modern Health, who is serving as executive chairman of the board. In the past, Levin served as CEO of staffing and recruitment platform People2.0, and held executive positions at companies such as Aon and ADP. In addition to announcing the new CEO, Hyundai has also appointed Alison Borland as chief staff and strategy officer. Similar to Levin, Borland has worked at Aon in the past, serving as senior vice president for her nearly 18 years. She also served as Chief Welfare Officer at Alight Solutions.

ProgynyIt is a platform that provides home construction and menopause support, appointing Melissa Cummings as the first COO. Some of her previous experiences include serving as chief account officer at Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Rhode Island, and vice president of Aetna’s strategic product solutions. In addition to the announcement, Progyny has also appointed Geoffrey Clapp as the first chief product officer. He joined Optum, where he most recently served as senior vice president of Optum Health Solutions.

Teladoc Health Welcome Adam Weinstein as the new chief product officer. He has previously held the title for other healthcare companies, including CityBlock Health and Calibrate.

Thermo Fisher Science Richard Knight was hired as the medical director of his transplant diagnosis business. He joined the company with more than 30 years of experience as a kidney and pancreatic transplant surgeon, most recently served as director of kidney and pancreatic transplants at the Houston Methodist Church and as professor of surgery at Weill Cornell School of Medicine.

Promotion

David Banks becomes CEO of Florida Adventhealth. He worked in the health system for nearly 25 years and joined the administrator of an Adventhealth Hospital in Kissimmee in 2001.

DEXCAREa startup that provides health systems that can help them coordinate and manage digital care and promote Matthew Blosl to the CEO role. He joined Dexcare in March as Chief Income Officer. Prior to that, he served as chief revenue officer for the company, including experiments and allies.

Kaiser Permanente appointed Neil Cowles as new chief information technology officer. He joined the Health System in 2012 as Executive Director of KP HealthConnect Business Operations, Kaiser’s native EHR. Prior to Kaiser, Cowles served as senior director at Oracle.

Crozer Health CEO Tony Esposito resigns amid the ongoing uncertainty about Pennsylvania's health system remaining open. Crozer owner Prospect Medical Holdings filed for bankruptcy in January and the health system has been struggling financially. Currently, the future of the system depends on successful sale to a group of unnamed buyers. Greg Williams, president of Prospect East Coast business, will play the role of CEO during the transition period.

UNC Health CEO Wesley Burks is resigning in September. He said he made the decision so that he could focus on growing North Carolina children and stay with his family. Burks joined the health system in 2011 as the host of UNC Children's Hospital. UNC appointed UNC Health Enterprises president Cristy Page as interim CEO when Burks left.

Layoffs

aetna 55 employees are being laid off due to the closure of the worry-free health plan. The layoffs will begin in late July and continue at the end of the year.

Massachusetts health system Baystate Health 43 employees will be laid off. Since February, this is after 98 layoffs. The cuts are part of the $225 million transformation plan launched by the health system in November, aiming to simplify strategic growth and increase financial resilience.

Idaho's Blue Cross It is planning to lay off about 135 workers, accounting for 10% of its workforce. The move comes after the payer’s contract with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.

CRISPR Biotechnology Reindeer Biological Science Its workforce was reduced by 32%, to about 40 employees. The layoffs are in the process of the company's restructuring, which attempts to narrow the company's focus to two ready-made cell therapies for blood cancer.
South Dakota's health system Sanford Health 96 employees in leadership and administrative positions. The cuts are the result of the merger of the health system with the Marshfield clinic in Wisconsin.
