Hackensack Meridian Health Joel Klein is appointed as the new chief digital information officer. He spent the last nine years in the University of Maryland's medical system, and he most recently served as CIO.
Professional pediatric mental health provider Instride Health Two new C-Suite leaders were appointed. The company appointed Joe Pietrzak as CFO and Don LeBlanc as chief commercial officer. In the past, Pietrzak has served as executive roles at the Oncology Care Partner and the American Cancer Treatment Center, which was acquired by City of Hope in 2022. LeBlanc's previous positions include the CEO of StackCommerce and the president of Prantman Prantivful.
LA Care Health Plan Melanie Fontes Rainer is welcomed as his premier strategy and transformation officer. In the past, she served as the National Director of Privacy, Cybersecurity and Civil Rights for HHS, and consultant to former HHS secretary Xavier Becerra.
Pharmaceutical Manufacturer Novartis us Katie Mazuk was hired as its chief patient experience officer. She joined the company from Johnson and Johnson, and most recently she was Senior Vice President of Patient Engagement and Client Solutions.
Sukiproviding providers with an AI-powered voice assistant, appointing three new executives: Kevin Wang as chief medical officer, Vikram Khanna as chief customer officer, and Joe Chang as chief technical director. In the past, Wang has held administrative positions at Apree Health, Healthcare Partners and Evolent Health. Khanna is a leader in companies including Innovaccer and Google, and Chang holds leadership roles at Primerai, Uber and Google.
Telemedicine provider Teladoc Health Vidya Raman-Tangella is welcomed as the new Chief Medical Officer. She joined the company from Amazon Web Services, where she served as general manager of healthcare and life sciences. In the past, she has held executive roles for Johnson & Johnson and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield in New Jersey.

UnitedHealth Group Bobby Hunter is appointed as CEO of the government program. He worked at the company for 14 years and most recently served as CEO of its Medicare division.

Community Health System CEO Tim Hingtgen will retire at the end of September after 17 years in the health system and nearly five years in the CEO position. Health system’s chief financial officer Kevin Hammons will serve as interim CEO, and its chief accounting officer Jason Johnson will serve as interim CFO.
Dexcom CEO Kevin Sayer will resign on January 1 after 11 years at the company. He will be replaced by the company's current chief operating officer Jake Leach, who joined the company 21 years ago.
Layoffs
Best Buy Health 161 employees are being laid off. The cuts are amid the financial challenges of the retail giant's health care division, just a month ago when it divested the current health of its home care business, which was acquired in 2021.
Ohio-based health system MetroHealth It was announced that 125 workers would be eliminated and some of the positions they recruited were frozen. Layouts mainly affect the administrative roles of the entire system, from senior leaders to entry-level employees. The health system said the move is part of Metrohealth's efforts to stabilize its financial position as it experiences an unprecedented surge in care costs, which it provides for the uninsured in Greater Cleveland, whose charitable health care costs are now over $1 million a day.
Sarepta TherapeuticsThe focus is on developing genetic drugs for rare diseases, which is reducing its workforce by 36%, or about 500 employees. The news comes after the second death this year, with a drugmaker's gene therapy for muscular dystrophy.
