Honda's global vehicle output fell 4.5% in May in May
Japanese automaker Honda Motor reported a 4.5% year-on-year decline in global production to 286,258 vehicles in May 2025, down 3.5% to 49,348 units from 302,927 units the same month last year, while overseas production fell 3.9% to 236,910 units.
In the first five months of 2025, the company produced a total of 1,447,358 vehicles worldwide, down more than 9% from 1,592,529 in the same period last year, while domestic output fell more than 4% to 265,337 units, while overseas production fell 10% to 1,182,02,121 units.
Japan's exports rose 4% annually to 3,932 vehicles, with the U.S. exports fivefold to 10,268 units, while exports to Europe fell to 37% to 15,612 vehicles.
Car production outside Japan has dropped 23% to 445,872 units so far this year, while production in North America has dropped by nearly 1% to 693,386 units during the period, down nearly 4% during the period US production fell to 4233,743,743 units.
