In Brazil on Saturday, eight people died after the hot air balloon crashed.
Brazilian officials announced that there were 21 people on the balloon, including the pilot. 13 survivors have been transported to local hospitals.
The tragic flight took off in the southern state of Santa Catarina and crashed in the city of Playa Grande, Reuters reported.
Governor Jorginho Mello said on X: “Our team continues to provide all the necessary support for families and victims. We are still monitoring the situation.
“We are all shocked by the accident.”
The subsequent crash video has surfaced online and shows a hot air balloon catching fire and then eventually landing on the ground.

The exact cause of the hot crash is still unknown, and this is the second time this month in Brazil. According to G1's Eduard Ribeiro and Carla Monteiro, 11 people were injured in a hot air balloon crash in São Paulo, Brazil on Sunday.
The accident was the result of a strong wind that caused the balloon to crash and killed a 27-year-old woman. Before the accident, the woman's fiancé proposed to her.
