Ilhan Omar avoids shooting issues regarding killing Israeli embassy staff

D-Minn. Rep. Ilhan Omar avoided answering reporters’ questions and refused to condemn the shooting in Washington, D.C., which killed two Israeli embassy staff members leaving the capital’s Jewish Museum Wednesday night.

“I'm going now.” Omar, the first Somali American elected to Congress, told reporters when asked if she would react to the shooting.

Omar's spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News numbers.

Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim left and killed the museum Wednesday night. According to the Israeli embassy, ​​the two plan to get engaged soon.

President Donald Trump and other Republicans have spoken out and marked the attack as an anti-Semitism.

“These terrible DC killings are clearly based on anti-Semitism and must end now!” he wrote in a Truth Society post. “Hate and activism have no place in the United States. Condolences to the victim's families. Sadly, such things can happen! God bless everyone!”

In addition, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said those responsible for the attack would face justice.

Rubio wrote on X on Thursday: “We condemn two staff members of the Israeli Embassy in the strongest words for murdering two staff members. Our prayers are prayers with loved ones. It is a timid, strong act of anti-Semitic violence. No doubt. No doubt: We will be good: We will track down those in charge and bring justice.”
