Judges in Washington state have made a guilty sentence for illegal immigrants accused of killing state police last year.
Raul Benitez-Santana, 33, was convicted of vehicle assault and vehicle homicide in connection with the death of Washington State Patrol Christopher Gadd.
Gadd, 27, was killed when he was hit by a speeding car at a speed of more than 100 mph in March 2024.

Benitez-Santana was affected during the crash and admitted to drinking and smoking before driving, according to Fox Seattle.
He turned around the road and then hit the back end of the Card vehicle, which was parked on his shoulder. Gadd was hit in three car crashes on Interstate 5 when he was paying attention to speeding and DUI drivers.
After his arrest, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) issued a detention request to Snohomish County Prison, a Mexican citizen Benitez-Santana.

He first encountered immigration agents in a Southern Correctional Entity in Burion, Washington on October 28, 2013, for failing to be arrested for revoking his driver's license.
He was also sentenced to 90 days in prison, suspended for 87 days in May 2013 after being sentenced to less than 40 grams of marijuana in May 2013.
On October 6, 2014, Santana was sentenced to 90 days in prison for revoking his driver's license and was again arrested in May 2019 for domestic violence assault.
