Iran executes a convicted person for spying on Israel's Mossad intelligence agency

Iranian state media reported on Wednesday that Iran had hanged a person convicted of spying on Israel.
Pedram Madani was reportedly hanged after the Iranian Supreme Court upheld the death sentence of the lower court. Madani visited Israel and met with Mossad officials to convey confidential information about Iranian buildings that installed “infrastructure” equipment, the official IRNA news agency said.

The report did not elaborate, but said Madani obtained foreign currencies and cryptocurrencies for information. It said Madani also met Mossad officials at the Belgian Israeli embassy.
Israel's security agencies did not immediately comment.
Madani, 41, was arrested in 2020.

Iran has escalated executions in recent months. According to Iran's human rights, human rights, in the past 10 days alone, at least 60 people have been executed.
Madani is the third person charged with execution this year for “spying for Israel”, which is often based on vague allegations, the group said.

In April, Iran executed a man convicted of working with Mossad and played a role in the killing of a revolutionary defender colonel in Tehran in 2022.
