Iranian and Jewish communities in Edmonton react to overseas conflicts – Edmonton

The conflict between Iran and Israel adds more uncertainty not only to the people living in the region, but also to the Edmontonians watching the situation far away.
For some members of the Edmonton Iranian community, it evokes complex emotions and strong help to help as much as possible.
Amir Ghahari, president of the Royal Canadian Citizen Corps of Iran, said he has been checking his cell phones for the latest updates to the conflict between Iran and Israel and has provided news to people living there.

“I can basically let them know, but it's very hard because the Iranian regime cuts the internet,” Gahari said.
The latest ceasefire negotiations have brought hope to the Jewish Federation in Edmonton.
President Stacey Leavitt-Wright believes that the participation of the United States will speed up the resolution process.
“I’m not a political expert or expert, but my reading about it is… (politicians) trying to figure out what the ceasefire looks like and how it will unfold,” she told Global News.
