Israel kills Iranian wartime chief of staff Ali Sharmdani during Tehran strike

Israel said on Tuesday that the country's top military leader General Ali Sharmdani killed Iran's wartime chief of staff. IDF spokesman Brig. General Effie Defrin said in a statement that Sharmdani was killed at the Tehran regime headquarters.

According to the Times of Israel, Sharmdani led the central headquarters of Khatam al-Anbiya (also known as Iran's military emergency command) about four days before he was killed. Sharmdani was formerly Major General Gholam Ali Rashid, who was killed on June 13 during the initial Israeli strike against Iran.
Sam Dani allegedly managed combat operations in his role and approved Iran's attack plans, according to the Israel Times.
NBC News reported that Israel seized commanders in Tehran's heart, seizing “sudden opportunity.”

State media says Iran's supreme leader was killed during Israeli strike
