The United Nations warns that the majority of Gaza's 2.3 million people are at risk of famine after Israel's 11-week lockdown on its enclave, with the rate of young children suffering from acute malnutrition almost three times.

The remaining hostage families say they fear those who are alive will be at risk of Israel's ongoing offensive dangers, and the dead will be killed forever. Israel said the campaign aims to bring them all back to Hamas rule in Gaza.

Israeli officials said more than 40 hostages were killed in prison, some of whom were attacked by Israeli strikes and others were killed by kidnappers.
