Israel warns people to attack Yemen's capital after leaving the area near Sanaa Airport

The Houthi-Run's al-Masirah TV said Israel attacked the Yemeni capital Sanaa on Tuesday, with witnesses reporting four strikes after Israeli military warned people to leave the area near the main airport.

Later on Tuesday, Israeli troops confirmed it had attacked Sanaa International Airport.

The attack comes after Monday's Israeli air strike at the port of Hodida, Yemen, in response to a landing in Israel's main air center a day ago near the Israeli main air center.

“Not evacuation will put you in danger,” the military said. It released a map of the area around Sanaa International Airport.

In a statement Monday, the military said it attacked the so-called Houthi terrorist targets in and around Hodida. According to the Houthi-run Ministry of Health, four people were killed and 39 were injured.

Three sources said Hussys closed the port and the area around the cement plant after the strike.

The extent of damage to the port is unclear, they said, but the intensity of the strikes and fires wreaked havoc on the berths of the containers.

Two other sources estimate damage to the port's five terminals, warehouses and customs areas 70%. A port worker said the strike happened when two ships unloaded their cargo and traffic at the port was completely stagnant.

Netanyahu vows to retaliate

The port is the second largest port in the Red Sea, second only to Aden and is the entry point for 80% of Yemen's imported food. Five residents told Reuters that more than 10 strikes targeted the Port of Hodida, Sarakana and the Al Hornak community. A cement plant east of Hodeidah also targeted four attacks.

“The attack was in response to repeated attacks on the State of Israel by the Hotti terrorist regime, which launched surface-to-surface missiles and drones on the territory of the country and its citizens,” the Israeli military said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to retaliate against Sunday's missile strike, the first person who escaped Israel's air defense interceptor in a series of attacks since March.

Houthi official Abdul Qader Al-Mortada said in an X post that Israel should wait for “unthinkable”.

The Yemeni group resumed attacks on Israel and transport lanes after a brief suspension of production between Hamas and Israel in Canada.

Officials said the U.S. military did not actively participate.

Houthis, who controls Yemen, has been firing on Israel since the beginning of the Israeli-Hamas war in Gaza and transporting it in the Red Sea, and they are talking about solidarity with the Palestinians.

A U.S. official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the U.S. military was not actively involved in Monday's strike, but there was general coordination between the two allies.

Meanwhile, an oil company run by Houthis announced that it had begun operating an emergency system that fuels cars due to unloading goods at the oil port of Ras Isa.

In a statement, the company attributed the decision to a U.S. strike against the country, including at the port.

U.S. President Donald Trump ordered a massive strike against Houthis in March. Israeli strikes have killed hundreds of people in Yemen since December, and Israeli strikes have greatly restricted strikes to Yemen.

On Monday, Israel approved a plan that could include unspecified time and aid to control the Palestinian enclave.

According to the Sols, the war in Gaza was killed and 251 were taken hostage after the Israeli attack on Israeli Hamas on October 7, 2023. Gaza health officials said Israel's attack on Gaza killed more than 52,000 Palestinians and destroyed most of the enclaves.
