Joe Biden

Former President Joe Biden said in a new interview that his timing of withdrawal from the 2024 election will not make a difference, suggesting that Kamala Harris' loss to Donald Trump is inevitable. (Watch the video below.)

“Should you withdraw early?” BBC's Nick Robinson asked in an interview shared on Wednesday.

“I don't think it's important,” Biden replied. “We left when we had a good candidate. She was fully funded.”

The former president said he and his administration were “so successful on our agenda” that it was hard for him to say, “I’m going to stop now.”

“I mean what I started saying,” he continued. “I'm going to hand it over to the next generation. It's a transitional government. But things move so quickly that it's hard to get away.”

Biden said it was “the right decision” and “a difficult decision”.

Biden, concerned about his acumen in the campaign, withdrew from the game in July after a tough debate on Trump. He immediately recognized Harris as the nominee. Trump seized on the key swing country and expelled the White House from the Democrats.

Robinson gave the former president another opportunity to resolve his move.

“I don't know it's going to be a big difference,” Biden said.
