The Phoenix Suns reportedly agreed to trade Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets on Sunday, one of the top actions in the NBA offseason.
Durant was traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Suns in the 2022-23 season and will head to the Rockets' Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the 2025 draft and five second-round picks.

Rumors about Durant trade spun for weeks after the team missed the playoffs with a 36-46 record in one season with Mike Budenholzer. Phoenix believes adding Durant with Devin Booker and later Bradley Beal can help them lift them back to the NBA finals.
Phoenix could not push itself back to the NBA finals, lost the game in the Western Conference semifinals in 2022-23, was ousted in the first round of the 2023-24 season, and did not even make the playoffs this year.

Durant, 36, is still proven to be one of the top scorers in a healthy state. He averaged 26.6 points per game and shot 52.7% from the field. He has been an All-Star every year since the 2009-10 season. He missed the entire 2019-20 season due to injury.
The Suns won two key players in Green and Brooks.
Greene has played the second straight game in 2024-25 for the second consecutive year. He averaged 21 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. He is only 23 years old.
Brooks, 29, will move for the second time in his career. He traded from the Memphis Grizzlies to the Rockets in 2023. In his two seasons in Houston, he averaged 13.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
