Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman issued a strong warning Wednesday to the recent riot violence: “We will track you. We will arrest you. We will prosecute you. We will punish you.”
Hochman stood with La Sheriff Robert Luna and LAPD chief Jim McDonnell to announce felony charges of several mobs accused of assaulting officials, robbing stores and destroying public property.
More arrests and charges are expected in the coming days.
“Let me give you some bad news,” Hawkman said. “There are a lot of videos through social media or we’ll know who you are, the people who are engaged in this behavior.

Christopher Gonzalez and Yoselin Johnson were charged with felony crimes after allegedly painting graffiti on the justice hall. Deputies said they found a paint bucket and a large roller rod in the car.
“These are not protesters,” Sheriff Luna said. “There is a big difference between protesting and individuals who go to violent, destructive, basically anarchists protesting and proven. … We’re talking about people who don’t care about the problem at hand.”

Luna praised the District Attorney for taking quick action to appoint a special prosecutor to focus on crimes against law enforcement. He also noted that some suspects may face federal charges with the help of federal agencies.
Chief MacDonald revealed some of the dangers officials faced in recent days. He said officers targeted fireworks, Molotov cocktails and even mortars.
“When commercial-grade fireworks are used as weapons, it's no longer a protest, our officers are under direct attack,” he said. “That's not freedom of speech. That's a felony.
“If you attack the peace officers of this city or this county, you will be held responsible.”

“We will promote all peace First Amendment activities,” Luna said. “But when you have someone committing violence here, to our deputy sheriff or police, or, they are destroying our city. We will stop it.”
