Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to attack calls on the 3000 block of the timber hollow drive shortly before 10 p.m.
The officers said they found a man on the ground in their 20s and had a gunshot wound. He later died in the hospital.

Police say the area is not known for this violence.
“It's a fairly quiet apartment building that can usually be a property crime in the worst case. It's a fairly tight, quiet apartment building. It's not the usual situation, so it's unusual,” Major JD Thomas told Channel 9.
We are asking the police for more information about the victims and whether they know who pulled the trigger.
CMPD asked witnesses in the area or anyone with surveillance videos to step up.
