M. Night Shyamalan takes “Steaul” to downtown Newport. Where is this.

Newport – Less than 24 hours after the hottest June day in Rhode Island, M. Night Shyamalan and film crew took over Washington Square and Eisenhower Park for a day filming Wednesday, June 25.
In the afternoon, the action is concentrated in dozens of crowd scenes, including at least simulated live music.
Sometimes, traffic around the square is stopped and pedestrians are asked to wait for a moment or find alternative routes.
Newport is at least the fourth community in the East Bay, with Warren, Little Compton and Bristol, the latter at least the launch site for the Prudence Island Ferry Cruise, which includes an Instagram post taken on Narragansett Bay and Shyamalan to celebrate the first day of shooting. Filming is expected to last until August at locations around the state, and on the soundstage set up at the Cranston Street Armory in Providence.
On June 25, Newport's temperature rose to its 90s low, stuffy, but not as oppressive as June 24, when the high triple-digit flirted.
