Major League Baseball News: Liam Hendriks returns to the mound for the first time in 2 years

It has been a roller coaster for Liam Hendriks for the last two years, but he is back to it now.

Hendriks hasn't pitched in the last two years, but due to his Tommy John Rehab, he finally finished the injured roster.

The Australian had surgery in the summer of 2023 and, despite never having the ideal time to hurt, luck wasn't around Hendriks at all.

Hendriks' 2023 debut was postponed as he battled non-Hodgkin's lymphoma earlier that year. He didn't make his debut until May 29, but didn't show up in five games. The surgery made him miss that season and the entire season last year.

Now, with the Boston Red Sox, Hendriks will make his long-awaited return.

Hendriks appeared in spring training, but Arm's soreness allowed him to start the season in Illinois (IL). He tried to make a comeback last year, but he suffered setbacks that left him late.

Prior to the injury, Hendriks has become one of the most prominent close-range players in any baseball game, with 38 saves against the Chicago White Sox in 2021.

Hendriks competed in three All-Stars from 2019 to 2022 (no Midsummer Classic in 2020).

The pitcher has a lifetime of 3.82 ERA, but that's overstated by his early struggles. Starting from the rookie season from 2011 to 2014, Hendriks struggled to be a starter with a 5.92 ERA.

However, after he became full-time relief with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2015, he had 2.92 ERAs in 54 outings in the bullpen.

Then, over the next eight seasons, the Oakland Track and the Chicago White Sox, he proved that 2015 wasn't fluke because he's had 2.97 ERA since.
