Man arrested for alleged attempt to bomb the U.S. Embassy attack in Tel Aviv – Country

Dual U.S. and Germany citizens attempted bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb bombs on suspicion of his trip to Israel, officials said Sunday.
The man, Joseph Neumeyer, walked to the embassy building on May 19 with a backpack filled with a Molotov cocktail, but fought against the guards and eventually fled, throwing his backpack as the defender tried to catch him.
Law enforcement then tracked Neumeyer to a hotel several blocks from the embassy and arrested him, according to a criminal lawsuit filed in eastern New York.

The attack took place in the context of Israel's war in Gaza and is now in its 19th month.

Neumeyer, 28, originally from Colorado and has U.S. and German citizenship, arrived in Canada from the U.S. in early February and then in Israel in late April, according to court records. Prosecutors said he had made a series of threatening social media posts before attempting the attack.
Israeli officials deported Nomiye on Saturday, and he tried New York before a federal judge in Brooklyn on Sunday, the same day his criminal complaint was liberated.
Neumeyer's court-appointed attorney Jeff Dahlberg declined to comment, and the U.S. State Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
During his first term, President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel despite opposition to Palestine and moved the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to a controversial city.
