Meles says Israel does “dirty work” and strongly opposes rebound at home

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who is doing “dirty work” for the West, has hinted that Israel, which launched a massive attack on Iran last week, caused a sensation at home.

At the end of the Canadian Summit (G7), the speeches sparked anger among German politicians on Wednesday, including members of the Meers United Partners.

Ralf Stegner, a member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), told DeSpiegel News magazine that “how strange” was that “the prime minister said Israel is doing our dirty work for us in Iran.”

He said Meers' statement indicated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's attack on Iran “presumably violates international law.”

Stigner said it was completely inappropriate for the German representative to launch many retaliatory attacks since Israel began on Friday, given the escalating conflict in the Middle East.

Melz said Tuesday at the end of the World’s seven major industrialized countries that Israel is currently doing “dirty work” for the entire West.

“I can only say that I have the courage to do this and the utmost respect for the Israeli army to have the courage to do this,” he said.

When Sören Pellmann, the head of the left-left left in parliament, accused German leaders of “abandoning international law”, Anton Hofreiter from the opposition Green Party told the station that he believed Merz's choice was “clumsy.”

In Iran, 80% to 90% of people are opposed to the Islamic regime, he said, noting that “civilians have also died in Israeli attacks on Iran.”

“But it is desirable for many people in this world, especially for people in Iran and Israel, if the Mullah regime is about to fall,” Hofret added.

Germany has been one of Israel's most fierce supporters of its military movement in Gaza. The Conservative-led government in Berlin did not condemn the strike, but emphasized Israel's right to self-defense.

When facing criticism from Berlin on Wednesday, Meers refuted the comments.

“This statement was overwhelmingly approved,” he said.
