Mike Waltz is expected to leave White House after signal air strike chat controversy

Donald Trump's national security adviser Mike Waltz said Thursday that the new administration will leave his position within 100 days.

Waltz, 51, was revealed that Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg was mistakenly included in an unclassified signal chat, which discusses the upcoming details of the Houthi target in Yemen.

According to the person on the condition of anonymity, Waltz's deputy Alex Wong is also expected to leave to discuss the undisclosed personnel move. The National Security Council did not respond to a request for comment.

Walz had previously assumed “full responsibility” for establishing a message chain, and government officials described the episode as “error,” but the incident did not cause no harm to Americans. Walz insists that he is not sure how Goldberg ends in the message chain and insists that he does not know reporters.

“Herges now?”

Susan Rice, who served as national security adviser for the Barack Obama administration, told CBC News in late March that the signal chat plot has damaged our credibility.

“I mean, the whole thing is incredible, the height of being disturbing to Americans, and the people who trust and rely on us and trust us and rely on us for decades,” Rice, who is also the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. Rosemary Barton Live.

“Now Heggs?” Democratic House member Norma Torres posted on social media earlier Thursday. Hegseth further criticized other communications that seemed not safe, as well as questions about nepotism, as both his wife and brother reportedly advised on sensitive defense matters.

Trump has publicly maintained confidence in Heggs.

U.S. Army veteran Waltz has held various positions in the Pentagon, serving in Congress for six years, representing the Florida area, and was elected by Trump, although some of his foreign policy views are not exactly in line with Trump's foreign policy views.

Hegseth puts pressure to resign after reports that he shared more military intelligence

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth reported that he had shared sensitive military details about the messaging app signal, and the pressure to resign was growing.

A few National Security Council officials were fired earlier last month, and soon after far-right activist and Trump Ally Laura Loomer raised suspicion at an unusual White House meeting, which saw more motivation happen.

Trump’s first administration has a large turnover rate overall, especially in national security positions. Michael Flynn's term was shorter than Waltz's, as his misrepresentation of contact with Russian officials was released in the last election. Flynn pleaded guilty twice after the subsequent indictment, even though Trump later pardoned his allies.

HR McMaster, John Bolton and Robert O'Brien also served as national security advisers in the first Trump administration.
