Northern California Casinos to Expand $2 billion to $4 billion
(FOX40.com) – Northern California Casinos are investing billions of dollars to create a unique entertainment district that can transform the landscape of the area.
Sacramento's 40-acre Hard Rock Hotel and Fire Mountain casino recently acquired another 350 acres. Underdeveloped land between the casino and Toyota amphitheater has not been touched for decades, but is expected to become what officials call a top destination. Upcoming festival entertainment areas, rodeo, sports and resort programs, retail, dining, walking trails and possible stadiums and park areas.

“It will bring thousands of jobs by increasing local dining, entertainment and retail options and improve the quality of life for existing residents,” said Gary Bradford, director of the 4th district of Yuba County. “In addition, it will increase tax revenue and potentially attract millions of people to visit destinations in Yuba County.”
Since Hard Rock opened in 2019, it has reportedly contributed nearly $2.5 billion to the local economy. While the action is currently on tribal land, the expansion will not be – meaning that regular sales and property tax revenue will benefit Yuba County.
Officials said the new development is expected to cost between $2 billion and $4 billion. Construction may take 5-10 years to complete, but may begin in 2026.
