Paige Bueckers

UConn's women's basketball plan is right on the top of the mountain.
The Huskimo Dogs won the 12th National Championship, all of which have been since 1995, with a blowout in defending champion South Carolina on Sunday afternoon.
In the last game before heading to the WNBA, the Paige Bueckers scored 17 points in UConn's 82-59 victory over Gamecocks.

The Husky scored 10 points higher in the half-time as South Carolina struggled on the floor—they scored just 26 points in the first 20 minutes.
But Azzi Fudd started putting his nails in the coffin in the third quarter, with 11 out of 24 points in the frame. Despite being South Carolina's highest score quarter so far, Uconn's also easily surpassed the 26-16 Gamecocks to reach fourth with a 20-point lead.
But the Huskimos stepped on the pedal and ran out of the season with a 18-6 record, effectively adding icing on the cake. After that, South Carolina took their starters out, though on the one hand it was great.
Bueckers and Fudd and the starter came out at 1:32, and an emotional Bueckers shared a long hug with head coach Geno Auriemma. Every quarter of Buecker's career entered her career, but it didn't peak until Sunday.

It was a shooting show in South Carolina – they hit 13 from a three-pointer before defeating two games in the final. However, UConn shot 48.4% from the floor.
The Bueckers may be the first overall draft pick in the WNBA draft next week. She even missed a season in the pain of the ACL in 2022, but she will still be the greatest member of UConn, which is already an immortal company.
Bueckers' 19.9 points per game are the largest in UConn history, and she also scored the third in the women's March madness throughout her career.

It's actually nine years since UConn's last title, the longest drought since they won the defender 30 years ago. They have never been more than five years (from 2004 to 2009) before.
