Poland blames Russia for 2024 Warsaw Mall Fire

A year after the fire destroyed a shopping mall in Warsaw, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk accused Russia of orchestrating the fire.

“We can now know for sure that the fire at the Mariversk Shopping Center was carried out by the arson representing the Russian Secret Service.”

The Prime Minister believes that some of the suspected offenders have been detained while others have been identified and pursued. “We will catch everyone!” he swore.

Poland's interior and attorney general issued a joint statement confirming that a large amount of evidence was collected after a year of investigation, including documents from the suspect during the bill.

The fire broke out on May 12, 2024 at the Marywilska 44 shopping center in the northern part of the capital, destroying about 1,400 stores and service stores. No injuries. Investigators later determined that the fire was lit in multiple locations.

Many of the affected business owners are members of the Vietnamese community in Warsaw.
