U.S. Embassy alerts at Iran strike when Israel issues shelter

The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem issued a security alert saying U.S. government workers and their families are still indoors in Israel as Iran has been attacked by drone and missile strikes.

The alert was first issued on Saturday and then again on Sunday morning as Iran strike killed at least 10 people and injured 180 people in Israel.

The Embassy’s alert posted on its website and on X said: “Due to the current security situation and ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, the U.S. Embassy directs that all U.S. government employees and their families will continue to be asylum until further notice.”

“Given the distance affected by missiles and debris, the U.S. Embassy offers employees living near the Tel Aviv Department of Defense the option to voluntarily relocate to new accommodation further away.”

Meanwhile, Israeli airspace is still closed, arriving and leaving, according to a statement from a spokesperson for the Israel Airport Authority.

Iran's bombing of Israel was in response to Israel's strike against Iran's nuclear and military targets, and Israeli officials said it was preemptive as Iran became closer to developing nuclear weapons.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu posted on X on Saturday. “This is nuclear terrorism against steroids. It will threaten the entire world.”

Israel also made it clear that the strike against Tehran is far from over and warned the Iranian people.

“An emergency warning is issued to all Iranian citizens: all individuals and their support agencies that will be present or soon appear in or around military weapons production plants or their support agencies must immediately evacuate these areas until further notice,” the IDF said in an alarm announced by Fassi. “The presence of near these facilities puts your life at risk.”

The IDF compared their approach with Iran's approach, which launched attacks in civilian areas.

“This is the message we spread to Iranian citizens. Although Iran chose to strike without warning, we chose to warn an innocent person [sic] People even if that means giving up the element of surprise,” the IDF posted to X Sunday morning. “We warned them in Persian, and on many channels. Because human life is first and foremost. That's the difference between us and our enemies. ”
