Police are investigating the death of a woman in Montebello apartment and found a man dead in a nearby pickup truck Tuesday night.
Police responded to reports of shootings in the 800 block of West Mining Avenue and found a woman with gunshot wounds in an apartment building around 7:20 p.m., police officials said.
Officials said the woman was taken to a nearby hospital and was pronounced dead. According to KNBC, a resident reported hearing screams before gunfire. Witnesses also told police they saw a truck fleeing the area, according to Ketra.
Police said a man was later found dead in a truck that had been hit by a gunshot wound, not far from the woman's discovery. Police did not look for any outstanding suspects and said there was no danger to the community.
Police are investigating the homicide. No further information has been released yet.
