Quinceañeras See Dream in Colombia has been implemented with the support of many people, including police

Bogota, Colombia (AP) – Their dream of celebrating “Quinceañeras” seems impossible to achieve. Then, with the support of police and some private companies, the foundation achieved it.

Twenty-four teenagers in Bogota, Colombia celebrated their 15th birthday on Friday, a traditional passing ceremony, especially for girls in parts of Latin America – as part of an initiative called “Sueños Hechos” or “Dream Come True”.

“I’m so happy, very nervous,” said Gabriela Moncada, who wanted a party and wore a jade green prom dress, but her family had no affordable means. She was then selected by the foundation.

“This is exactly what I dreamed of,” she said.

These 24 girls are from Bogota in different places around the Colombian capital.

They brought photos of the hairstyle they wanted, and some were the first time in their lives putting on makeup. They were then taken to the limousine to the lobby for a formal party where police were waiting for them and marching with sabers in memory of them.

The foundation opened the appeal for the application, with about 100 people registering, and after review, they received 24.
