Rapper Kid Cudi gets witness at Combs sex trafficking trial

Rapper Kid Cudi testified at Sean (Diddy) Combs' New York sex trafficking trial and is expected to testify with Combs' ex-girlfriend R&B singer Cassie 14 years ago.

A prosecutor said Cudi's legal name is Scott Mescudi and he did not expect to testify for a long time. The Grammy Award-winning rapper, known for his alternative hip-hop style, arrived at the court with a black SUV and was escorted inside.

Prosecutor Emily Johnson began to ask her questions, showing Cudi pictures of Cassie and asking if he knew her.

He replied, “We are friends and we dated briefly.

When asked if he knew who else was involved when Casey was dating, Cudy replied: Sean Combs.

Cassie testified last week that the comb threatened to blow up Cudi's car and hurt him after he learned she was dating Cudi.

Comb pleads not guilty

Combs, 55, pleaded not guilty to sexual trafficking and racket charges after being arrested in September at a Manhattan hotel. He denied accusations that he used threats and strong position in the hip-hop world to abuse women and others and forced Cassie to join other men in drug-burning sex shows, called “Freaks”, who she said was exhausting her singing career too much.

The federal investigation into the comb began in November 2023, the day after Cassie sued him in federal court in Manhattan, accusing him of years of sexual and physical abuse. The next day, Combs settled the lawsuit for $20 million.

In last week's four-day testimony, Cassie's legal name was Casandra Ventura, who said Combs suffered abuse in the nearly 11 years he had been with him from 2007 to 2018.

She said she had a relationship with Cudi in late 2011 and after she learned about it within weeks when she learned about it while looking at her phone during a comb freak, she said she had endured it for years.

Personal assistant sees combs become violent

From 2013 to 2015, Combs' personal assistant George Kaplan testified Thursday that he had only once violent with Cassie on a 2015 private jet to Combs. He said he heard the glass breaking behind him, looking at his shoulder and saw the whiskey glass holding on the comb.

Kaplan testified: “There was a huge commotion and melee and then after the glass crashed, Cassie screamed, ‘Did no one see this?’

Kaplan said he did not intervene because he did not want to lose his dream job. He said he decided to resign after that attack, and later he saw Cassie sitting in the bedroom with dark eyes sitting and the comb sent him to pick up anti-inflammatory drugs in the store to treat the injury.

Kaplan also said that when the rapper threw green apples at her at her home in Florida, he saw the comb become violent with another girlfriend, whom he only called Gina.

Kaplan told jurors that his tenure on the comb “has proved to be one of the most complex pieces of my life.”

He said: “I am a young man, this is the person who men are talking to me.”

Despite seeing the comb abuse Cassie, Kaplan said he still believes in many aspects of their work.

Kaplan testified against the government subpoena, only after the judge gave him any potential criminal liability he might face for the testimony.
