Republican Senator Tuberville launches Alabama governor movement with conservative values

Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville announced his 2026 campaign for Alabama governor on Tuesday.

Tuberville, the top Senate supporter and ally of President Donald Trump, has launched a campaign website to touting his “conservative Alabama values.”

The Senator made his debut after announcing his campaign for the Will Cain Show for Fox News.

The former longtime college football coach’s move — as president for a decade at Auburn Alabama — ended speculation about his ambition to run for governor in a host family.

Just a week ago, Fox News confirmed that Tuberville told donors at a recent private meeting that he would launch a gubernatorial campaign.

A few weeks ago, a familiar source told Fox News that Trump's approval would be a “complete deal” if Tiuberville decides to run for governor.

Tuberville, who was elected to the Senate in 2020, is running for Republican Governor Kay Ivey, who has a limited term. His move has established an open Senate seat in Alabama in the 2026 midterm elections.
