Sunrise Group raises $29 million to expand digital sleep clinics

Sunrise Group, a sleep health company, has secured $29 million in funding to drive the expansion of digital sleep clinics nationwide, called Dreem Health, the company announced Thursday.
The Belgian-based Sunrise Group provides a small chin sensor focusing on jaw movement for accurate sleep analysis. In 2024, it received Dreem Health, which provides video consultation, diagnostics and personalized treatment solutions for sleep conditions such as sleep apnea. It accepts insurance, including UnitedHealthCare, Aetna and Medicare.
Its $29 million round is led by Eurazeo, including Amazon's Alexa Fund, We International, Kurma Partners, Vives Fund, Majycc (UI Investissission Fund), Namur Invest, Namur Invest, Seventure Partners, Investssud, Sambrinvest, Nosbrinvest, Noshaq, IMBC and Invest.BW. Sunrise Group raised a total of $58 million.
“What sets the Sunrise Group is a combination of hardware and software built specifically for sleep health – a technology that directly powers Dreem Health’s clinical services,” Eurazeo Vice President Maxime Huerre said in a statement. “This is not just another application or device. It is the backbone of a new model for how to deliver sleep.”
Through funding, the company will expand support from Dream Health nationwide. It currently operates in 49 states. Laurent Martinot, CEO and founder of Sunrise Group, said it also hopes to expand internationally, such as France, which recently completed a study with 848 patients, “compared to traditional multi-sleeping, validating the accuracy and effectiveness of our home sleep tests.”
In addition, the company will invest in research and product development to improve the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.
“Our focus is on expanding our digital sleep clinic, Dreem Health, the ambition to build the largest sleep clinic in the United States, where any sleep disorder can be easily diagnosed and treated,” Martinot said in an email. “This means expanding access and accelerating technology development, including strategic investment in AI to change the way sleep medicine is delivered.” ”
Currently, more than 70 million Americans have sleep disorders, but only one sleep doctor per 43,000 people. Research shows that lack of sleep increases the risk of severe medical conditions such as obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Deficiency of sleep is also related to shortening of life span.
Several other companies are also trying to improve sleep care, including Snap Diagnostics, Blackstone Medical Services and Better Night.
“What really sets us apart is that Dreem Health offers a comprehensive, end-to-end solution for sleep disorders – covering diagnosis and treatment, and coordinating the full range of treatments from PAP devices and surgical implants to oral implants to oral implants to oral implants to oral implants to CBT-I and ensuring that every patient needs every patient to get better sleep and ultimately make them work harder,” MARTOT, MARTOT continues to lag behind. ”
