A former California Highway Patrol captain was charged with sexual abuse while traveling from Los Angeles, Florida, prosecutors announced Thursday.
Prosecutors claimed that Dennis Wally Woodbury, 49, knocked down a bottle of Prosecco during an April 13 flight, slapped a male flight attendant in the ass, shouted, “I love you,” and showed another male flight attendant a pornographic photo.
Woodbury of Azusa was charged with a felony sex offence in special maritime and territorial jurisdiction in the United States, and if convicted, he was sentenced to up to two years in federal prison.
Woodbury's attorney Annick Jordan declined to comment on the case. Woodbury was detained for bonds and could not comment immediately. It is not clear when Woodbury will stop working for the Center for Health Protection. The U.S. Attorney’s Office wrote in a press release that he was “fired of state service.”
Woodbury is traveling to Los Angeles International Airport in Fort Lauderdale, Florida during the alleged abuse incident, according to the criminal lawsuit.
Woodbury allegedly showed a picture of a dog to a dog before the plane left the gate, in which two men had sex in the background. The man replied, “Oh my God,” Woodbury laughed, “I wonder how long it will take,” the prosecutor wrote in a criminal lawsuit.
Woodbury then suggested that the two men cruis together.
“when [the attendant] “It proved how the aircraft's oxygen mask works, and he saw Woodbury watching him and performed manual exercises,” the complaint said.
The complaint said Woodbury slapped the waiter on the hip with his left hand and shouted he “love him.”
The complaint said Woodbury later pulled down his pants during the flight and exposed his penis to the first flight attendant standing in the front of the plane.
Prosecutors claimed Woodbury asked for more wine and exposed himself for the second time after he was told there was only one non-alcoholic beverage.
Woodbury returned to her seat and slept with the rest of the plane. According to the criminal complaint, when he was accompanied by loose police, he shouted to a flight attendant: “It's your fault because you didn't go to the bathroom with me.”
Woodbury later told police that the flight attendant asked him to go to the bathroom, but according to court records, he refused.
