The sister of Luo's homicide victim said the company ignored “red flags”

The sister of a Scranton man shot dead while working overnight at Scranton Lowe’s home renovation on Saturday, saying the store could do more to protect her brother.

Christina Moeller-Baxter noted in a Facebook post Wednesday afternoon that the company failed to take action. She mentioned the criminal lawsuit that accused Dalton's defendant, Christopher Wasnetsky, emailed Lowe's management and human resources department, before he allegedly shot Jeffrey Moeller Jr., 44, to kill Jeffrey Moeller Jr., 44. He said he would shoot Moeller in an email and said that if someone prevented Moeller from harassing him, that would be avoided. The store manager told police that Wasnetsky had filed a complaint against the investigated and unfounded Moeller.

“Shame you, Lao's home improvement!!” Christina Moeller-Baxter wrote in a Facebook post, tagging the company. “You have a chance to protect him, you chose not to. You have ignored every red flag. Now, because your actions fail to act, our family is broken forever!”

Moeller-Baxter also said her brother reported Wasnetsky to the company.

“To the best of our knowledge,[Wasnetsky]has been making disturbing comments about Jeffrey. Despite Jeffrey’s repeated reports, nothing has been done.”

Lowe's Companies Inc. did not immediately respond to email and phone requests requested for comment Thursday. After the shooting, it issued a statement saying the company is working closely with law enforcement investigations.

“The safety of our colleagues and clients is our top priority and we feel very sad about this meaningless violence,” the statement said.

Husband, dad and hard work

Moeller's itu prose, published by Zygmunt-Murtie Funeral and Cremation Service in Orange County, New York, paints Moeller as a determined father and family.

Moeller was born on July 15, 1980 in Suffern, New York, and his wife Keisha Moeller survived. Their daughters, Olivia, 11, Carter, 8, and Peyton, 6, were their father, Jeffrey Moeller, and brothers, Gary Moeller and sister.

Moeller said Moeller had built a life rooted in his family and community in Scranton and died while working proudly in his work.

“He will be remembered for his passion for his family and his deep love for him,” the prosecutor wrote.

Celebration of Life Service will be held later, with private funerals at Seamanville Cemetery in Monroe, New York.

The GoFundMe page has raised more than $20,000 by 4 p.m. Thursday, surpassing its $18,000 target.

Continue to investigate

Wasnetsky was initially charged with a serious assault, awaiting autopsy results. The charges were revised Monday to include first-degree and third-degree murder cases, according to the criminal lawsuit.

Wasnetsky remains in Lakwana County Jail without bail.

The preliminary hearing, originally scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on June 30, is for Magistrate Laura Turlip.
