The mother of a Maryland woman was brutally raped and murdered by an illegal immigrant in 2023, and she believes she was sentenced to justice after her daughter's killer was convicted by a jury in Harford County Circuit Court on Monday.
Patty Morin, mother of 37-year-old Rachel Morin Convicted In all charges of first-degree murder, first-degree rape, third-degree sex crimes and kidnapping.
“So it's very sad when we hear the verdict, because we have to relive and see what my daughter has suffered. But at the same time, we are also convinced that this is the murderer and justice is served,” she said.

Rachel Morin was attacked and killed by Martinez-Hernandez while out on the Ma&Pa Heritage Trail in Bel Air in August 2023.
The five-year-old mother was brutally beaten and raped by the El Salvador immigrants who were eventually arrested in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a few months after the murder, the Harford County State Attorney’s Office said.
Patty Morin described his daughter's death in detail, saying “Hannity” and Martinez-Hernandez slammed Rachel's head, looking like a broken eggshell.

She said: “Literally, her body was all over her body. The murderer dragged her 150 yards into the tunnel. Then he reached her into the tunnel. Then he placed her on the wall of the tunnel and raped her. “So you'll see the outline of her body and blood on the wall of the tunnel.” ”

She said she was angry at the Biden administration for the death of her daughter and said former President Joe Biden did not appeal for condolences.

Martinez-Hernandez will be sentenced and may face life in prison without parole.
