Germany's Wadephul visits the Jerusalem Holocaust Memorial before the conversation
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul visited the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial on Sunday.
Wadephul will lay wreaths at the site in honor of the 6 million Jews killed by the Nazi regime in Germany.
Foreign Minister took office earlier this week and he will hold talks with his Israeli counterpart Gideon Saar and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later on Sunday before visiting Ramallah with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa.
Wadephul's visit to Israel was held against the backdrop of celebrations, a celebration of 60 years of diplomatic relations between Germany and Israel.
Hamas was demonstrated after meeting with relatives of the Israeli hostages after arriving in the country on Saturday, which will be deployed by Germany earlier on Sunday.
The system can destroy approaching missiles at altitudes up to 100 kilometers.
The Luftwaffe will be operating ready through the system this year, which is being deployed in three locations in Germany.
Wadephul's dialogue with Netanyahu will include discussions about German arms delivery for Israel, as well as a Dutch diplomatic initiative announced earlier this week to review the EU-Israel Trade Association agreement.
The proposed review will be discussed by the EU Foreign Minister, in the Gaza Strip where Israel continues to block humanitarian aid, which is home to approximately two million Palestinians.
