Trump calls for agreement on the Gaza war to show signs of progress – State

U.S. President Donald Trump defended a ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza war on Sunday, calling for a deal that would stop fighting in a 20-month-long conflict as Israel and Hamas appear to be approaching the deal.
Israeli officials said top advisers to Prime Minister Ron Dermer, Benjamin Netanyahu, will travel to Washington this week to conduct a ceasefire.
The official said there are also plans for Netanyahu's trip to Washington in the coming weeks, which could see a new deal. The official declined to discuss the focus of the visit and discussed the unfinished plans under anonymity.
“Get a deal in Gaza. Let the qualitative come back!!!” Trump wrote on his social media platform, early Sunday on Sunday, about the Senate vote on his tax and expenditure cut bill.
Trump put forward expectations for a deal on Friday, saying a ceasefire could be reached next week. He asked a question from a reporter and said: “We are studying Gaza and trying to take care of it.”
Trump has repeatedly called on Israel and Hamas to end the war in Gaza. Even though Trump reached a distance in his eight-week ceasefire earlier this year, attempts to get one party to a new deal have failed since then.

Gaza's message is not the only post Trump has to do with the Middle East. On Saturday night, he doubled his criticism of the legal lawsuit against Netanyahu, who was tried for alleged corruption, calling it “a political witch hunt that is very similar to the witch hunt I was forced to endure.”
In a post about Truth Social, he said the trial interfered with negotiations about the ceasefire in Gaza.
Trump wrote: “(Netanyahu) is currently in a deal with Hamas, which includes the recovery of hostages.
The Post responded to similar comments made last week when Trump called for the cancellation of the trial. This is a dramatic intervention by international allies in the internal affairs of sovereign states. Despite Trump's popularity in the country, many people in Israel are upset.
The trial was repeatedly postponed at Netanyahu's request, citing security and diplomatic developments. On Sunday, the court agreed to call for two days of testimony in Netanyahu, which was held this week.
How the war ends
Negotiations between Israel and Hamas repeatedly faltered in a major crux of whether the war should end as part of any ceasefire agreement.
Hamas official Mahmoud Merdawi accused Netanyahu of stopping progress in the deal and said in a comment on the Telegram Messaging App that Israeli leaders insisted on a temporary agreement that would release only 10 hostages.
Netanyahu spokesman Omer Dostri said that “Hamas is the only obstacle to ending the war” without resolving Meldavi’s claims.
Hamas said it was willing to release all hostages in exchange for the entire evacuation of Israeli forces and end the war. Israel rejected the proposal, saying that if Hamas surrenders, disarms and exiles, it would agree to end the war, something the group refused.
The war in Gaza began on October 7, 2023. Hamas attacks on militants killed 1,200 people, about 250 hostages, of which about 50 were captured, and less than half were still alive.
Gaza's Ministry of Health said on Sunday that the Israeli fires killed 88 people in the past 24 hours, and the death toll rose to 56,500 in 20 months of combat. The ministry is part of the Hamas government and does not distinguish between militants and civilians, but says more than half of the dead are women and children.
The war has triggered humanitarian disasters, displaced, most of Gaza's population is usually multiple times and eliminated most of the urban landscape in the region.

Israeli military orders new evacuation in northern Gaza
The Israeli military ordered a massive evacuation of Palestinians on Sunday, a blockbuster in northern Gaza, an early goal of the war and severely damaged by multiple rounds of combat.
Military spokesman Colonel Avicay Adraee posted the order on social media. It includes several communities in eastern and northern Gaza, as well as Jabaliya refugee camps.
Adere said the military will expand its escalating attacks to the northern part of the city, calling for people to move south to the Muwasi area in southern Gaza.
After nearly earlier clearing in the war, thousands of people were in northern Gaza after returning in a ceasefire earlier this year.
The ongoing Israeli military offensive aims to transfer Palestinians to southern Southern Gaza so that troops can operate more freely to combat militants. Rights groups say their movement will constitute forced displacement.
