White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Thursday that President Donald Trump will be involved in Israel's conflict with Iran in the next two weeks to make a decision.

Levitt said in the White House that introduced Trump, “I got a message directly from the president and I quoted the fact that in the near future there is a great deal of negotiations that may happen with Iran in the near future and I will decide whether to go on in the next two weeks.”

“This is the president's direct offer today.”

“He knew very well,” she added. “Iran gave them 60 days, when he gave them a 60-day warning without having to play. On the 61st day, Israel took action against Iran. As I just told you directly from the president, he will make a decision in two weeks.”

Levitt said there were six rounds of direct and indirect negotiations with Iran. The talks continued but refused to provide details, she said.

When asked whether Trump would strike Iran and if negotiations fail, Levitt repeatedly stated that the president would make a decision “whether to go” in the next two weeks.

In view of other previous global delays, Levitt said the conflict was different.

“President Trump inherited global unrest from the last administration. He was always interested in diplomacy, but was not afraid to use his power,” Levitt said.

Levitt insists that Iran cannot obtain a nuclear bomb, which is a position that Trump and Israel have repeatedly stated.

“The president’s priority is to ensure that Iran has no access to nuclear weapons and provide peace and stability in the Middle East.”

Israel launched an attack on Iran on Friday, targeting its nuclear facilities and evacuating some of the country's top military generals. Iran has been attacking Tel Aviv and other locations.
