Trump to build national homeless veteran centers that used funds to housing for illegal foreigners

First on Fox: Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday to create a national homeless veterans center that was previously used for redirecting funds for services for illegal foreigners.
The president's order directs the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to establish the National Fighter Independence Center on the Veterans Affairs campus in West Los Angeles.

According to the White House, Los Angeles has about 3,000 homeless veterans, more than any other city in the country and 10% of all homeless people in the United States.

“The new National Fighter Independence Center will help them and other veterans like them rebuild their lives,” the White House said.
The White House said the center will allow veterans across the country to seek and obtain care, benefits and services.
The order redirects funds previously used for housing or other services for illegal foreigners to build, build and maintain a new center.
“The center will promote self-sufficiency through housing, substance abuse treatment and providing productivity work to veterans where they are,” the White House explained.
The White House said the goal is to accommodate up to 6,000 veterans of the homeless by 2028.

The order also directed the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to use coupons to support homeless veterans and directed the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to “restore accountability for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).”.
The order also directs VA to take action against individuals who committed misconduct and investigate and correct the Biden administration’s decision to “recall and restore payrolls for employees who were previously fired for misconduct.”
The order also ensures that veterans will receive more options for care, benefits and services – including reduced appointments for veterans’ health management through options such as expanded hours, weekend appointments and virtual health care.
The order also guides feasibility studies conducted at Manchester Virginia Medical Center to expand services to support full-service medical centers in New Hampshire.

“President Trump firmly believes that every veteran deserves our gratitude and the federal government should treat veterans like they do,” the White House said.
The order comes a week after the White House announced that Trump will hold a military parade in June to mark military veterans and active-duty military personnel and the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army.
The parade is scheduled for June 14. 250th birthday US Army.
