Auditions for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination begin when Pritzker visits New Hampshire

It's 2025, but it's started a little bit like 2028 in New Hampshire, which traditionally was the first presidential primary in the White House game.

That's because Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, a two-time Democrat from a solid blue state in the Midwest, will be coming to New Hampshire this weekend to title the state's largest annual fundraising party.

Pritzker has become one of the most controversial critics of his party’s president’s thorough and controversial moves against the party president in the first three months of his second White House tour, and is seen as a contender for the Democratic 2028 presidential nomination.

A trip to New Hampshire (a trip that has been No. 1 in the White House race for more than a century) is seen as an early indicator, indicating that politicians are interested in holding the presidency in the next election.

This is the Democrats could eventually run for the White House in 2028

When Fox News Digital asked him what his message would be at the New Hampshire Democratic dinner, what we had to prepare for the fight. ”

The governor, who is a member of the Prizker family that owns the Hyatt hotel chain and has founded several of his own venture and investment startups, believes the country is in a “constitutional crisis” and “we have too many people affected by Trump’s administration’s policies.”

“It's a time for people to stand up and fight,” he added.

Pritzker, 60, is the first potential Democratic president to visit New Hampshire or any other junior state as Democrats lose their White House and their Senate majority and fail to retake the house in November.

Trump and Republicans fell with key parts of the Democratic base, including blacks, Hispanics and young voters, making gains.

After these setbacks, Democrats experienced a heightened party tension, an angry and vibrant foundation itch to fight back against Trump. This anger is not only directed at Trump and Republicans, but also to Democrats, and many of the party’s bases are upset because leaders do not have enough effective or voice to oppose the president’s opposition.

This also leads to reflection on the Democratic Party’s position and its direction in favorable ratings in the national polls.

Two-term California Governor Gavin Newsom, another high-profile Democrat, may also have national ambitions in 2028, said in an interview with The Hill that he wasn't sure what the party really represents.

“I don't know what the party is,” Newsom said. “I'm still struggling with it.”

When asked if he was struggling, Prizker replied: “I have known all my life. The Democrats stand up for the working people. Fight for the working families. We are the Civil Rights Party. We are the Human Rights Party. There is no doubt that, in my opinion, this.”

Pritzker, who has not been on a term restricted campaign for re-election in 2026, has not said whether he would bid for a third term in Illinois. But the clock ticked, and the filing period was open later this year, with the state's primary elections being only 11 months.

“Given the circumstances of voting for people, I need to make a decision and announce it before the latest July,” Pritzker said.

But it's the presidential election where Pritzker may play the headlines.

Chicagoan Bill Daley, a former business secretary to former President Bill Clinton and chief of staff to former President Barack Obama, told the Wall Street Journal last week: “There is no doubt that he [Pritzker] It will be running soon. ”

Pritzker asked Daley's predictions, saying, “I think I'll remind you that when I first ran for governor, he didn't support me…I don't know where he got his message.”

“I can only tell you,” Pritzker said, “I'm focused on whether I'll run for re-election for governor and defeat Donald Trump's policy, which is the possibility of launching a national campaign in the 2028 election cycle.”

Democratic vice-chairman gets the final pass: stay neutral or resign in primary election

The governor is no stranger to New Hampshire. He led the 2022 New Hampshire Democratic Party Congress and returned to the campaign last September for then-Vice President Kamala Harris, who replaced then-President Joe Biden as the party’s presidential candidate in July. Pritzker stopped several times, including addressing union members at the annual Labor Day breakfast at AFL-CIO in New Hampshire.

Pritzker is one of the people under Harris' presidential campaign review and may be a possible campaign companion.

The governor led a successful effort to host the 2024 Democratic National Conference in Chicago and a potential contender for White House contenders to speak during the daily breakfast of the Democratic Delegation in New Hampshire in 2028.

Jim Demers, a senior Democratic adviser based in New Hampshire, noted that “for many New Hampshire Democrats, his [Pritzker’s] The visit is an early audition for 2028. ”

“This is when voters are really seeking leadership, and someone will challenge what Donald Trump is doing. So what he says will be very heavy.”

Demers noted Pritzker has travelled to the Granite Country several times over the past few years, saying: “Every time he visits with New Hampshire voters, he has a very resonant message.”

“Pritzker is in a high state of politics at the right time for how to be fired and accused Democrats of opposing President Trump,” said Neil Levesque, longtime director of the New Hampshire School of Political Science at St. Anselm College.

He noted that the stay was “in view of Democrats’ desire for opposition, multiple visits will be made by multiple potential candidates.”

Although Pritzker's visit is the first time, as early moves to the 2028 White House game are underway, action has been taken behind the scenes.

A Democratic strategist based in a state country, demanding that it remain anonymous for more freedom to share, New Hampshire activists are receiving fundraising emails regularly from some potential candidates in 2028.

“I receive twelve times a week,” the strategist said, adding that the news was signed by Pritzker, Pennsylvania government Josh Shapiro, Michigan government Gretchen Whitmer, and Kentucky government Andy Gov.

The strategist said the White House may have hope for people “through this constant email drives messages and their names.”

While Pritzker's stay seems to be early, it actually happened in the calendar, not the first stop in the early voting state of the 2024 presidential election cycle.

Pompeo worked hard to study the 2024 Republican presidential nomination before deciding to launch a campaign, and he was the first hope in the potential Republican White House to visit one of the junior and core conference countries that had an early vote.
