Twin Cities Volleyball Coach Accused of Sexual Assaulting a 17-year-old player

A volleyball coach from Burnsville has been charged with sexual assault on a minor player.

Brooke Reinhardt, 24, of Rosemount, was charged with three counts in someone in authority, with the victim being a 17-year-old boy.

Reinhart is listed as coach of the Boys Volleyball Team of Burnsville High School.

The 17-year-old was interviewed and said he had forgotten his wallet and his coach Reinhardt sent him a text message saying he had forgotten it in the car, saying she took him to practice in the maple forest on June 28 before taking him home.

The teen initially told police that his relationship with Reinhart was a “coach and athlete” relationship and she was kind, but they didn’t spend any time together except playing volleyball.

When the victim allegedly allowed the officer to check his phone, they found Reinhardt's text telling him “he has a lot to delete”, the complaint noted, about the condom.

The victim then told officer Reinhardt that he had been helping him with social conditions, causing them to hang out more frequently. This allegedly caused them to get together and then “kiss”, and the teen said they had started “dating” for two to three months.

According to the complaint, the teen admitted when asked about the condom text “They have penetrating sex” after initially saying it wasn’t progress beyond kissing and watching TV.

He claimed that the first time happened at the Rosemount house in Reinhardt about a month ago, and the second time on June 28 at the Burnsville Apartment. The teenager also said Reinhardt sent him nude photos.

Reinhardt was arrested on July 2, and in an interview, she claimed that the boy left her wallet in the car after driving to practice and described their relationship as a coach and player.

She allegedly admitted that in May she had sex with the boy in the car and admitted having sex with him in her house, the boy's house and the Burnsville man's apartment. She also admitted to sending nude photos of the boy.

The WCCO report said Reinhardt was hired in September 2023, and the Burnsville-Eagan Health District said that while personnel information cannot be released, it is working fully with the police and “will take appropriate action in accordance with regional policies and state laws.”
