WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Donald Trump said Tuesday he had chosen his way forward for his ambitious golden dome missile defense shield.

The White House said in the latest news on the presidential schedule that Trump plans to announce in the Oval Office with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth at 3 p.m. (GMT).

Michael Guetlein, deputy vice president of operations for the U.S. Space Force, is expected to attend officials who declined to be named, saying he could be appointed as the leader of the project.

It is estimated that the Golden Dome will cost tens of thousands of dollars and will take years to implement as the controversial plan faces political scrutiny and funding uncertainty.
