Michael Lombardi, general manager of North Carolina football, is determined to ensure reports on Bill Belichick’s relationship with Jordon Hudson, will not be distracted.

Hudson closed a question on how the couple met in April when Belichick interviewed CBS News Sunday Morning, which drew widespread criticism.

“I mean, a lot is just noise,” Lombardy said during his appearance on ESPN Radio's “Marty & McGee.”

“It’s totally false to us that distracts from what people are saying or what they write.

Lombardi noted that the success of the program this offseason avoided “noise”.

“The noise there comes from a direction that is trying to cause destructiveness in our plans. We won't allow it. We won't admit it. We will keep moving forward,” Lombardy said.

“And, face it, the proof of Pudding is a huge recruiting class. We have a huge portal and we will continue to be better every day.”

Lombardi said there was no reason to pay attention when the interview was first aired. He said his concerns stemmed from North Carolina’s football schedule, not the plays of Berishik Hudson.

“Everyone looked at each other, like it was totally surprised. So, we didn't have any reason to circle the van. We were going to focus on what we were going to do, as Bill said in many interviews, I didn't want to talk to coach Berichick, but he said, 'But, Jordan did something in business outside of North Carolina football.''I mean, it's totally a story, it's basically a composition,” Lombard said.

“I mean, it's a huge, you know, you're probably a great novelist, some people reporting these things. So, we don't, there's no reason to circle any vans. Look, when we play Clemson, we're going to have to circle the vans. But, we have to play TCUs at the opening ceremony, but we're going to have to circle the vans. It's competitive.

Belichick's coaching debut in North Carolina will face TCU at 8 p.m. on September 1.
