Weightwatchers introduces new menopause plan

WeiverWatchers launched a new menopause-centric program on Monday to support women who manage weight from postmenopausal to postmenopausal weight.

New York City-based Weightwatchers is a health company that combines technology and community support to help people lose weight and improve their fitness. It utilizes behavioral health strategies, such as point tracking systems, to encourage mindful eating.

Meanwhile, menopause weight viewers provide one-to-one support, which can be obtained with menopause-trained clinicians and registered dietitians. Consumers receive nutritional support, focusing on strength and stability and workshops related to menopause. The plan starts at $25 per month.

If desired, prescribe members, such as GLP-1 or hormone replacement therapy, may also be prescribed. The latter involves replacing hormones to relieve symptoms of menopause, such as heat scintillation and vaginal dryness. Menopause-age women (whose weight loss prescription program) at the weight viewer clinic lost an average of 18.6% of their weight (about 40 pounds) per year, while new Mayo clinical studies show that combining hormone therapy with GLP-1 semi-purple sugar agents can increase weight by 30% compared to GLP-1 alone.

“During this period, many women have changed their weight, sleep, mood and overall health and these changes can feel overwhelmed,” Kim Boyd, chief medical officer of WhatWatchers, said in an email. “Traditional approaches don’t always meet these unique needs, often leaving women feeling isolated or fired. We provide women with the guidance and tools they need to achieve real, lasting results at this stage of our lives, which is why we launch a weight watch for menopause.”

The company also appointed Queen Latifah as the official spokesperson for the menopause program.

“Menophobia is a new journey for me, and it has changed my perception of the body and care,” Queen Latifah said in a statement. “This shows me the importance of women’s support for truly understanding this stage of life. That’s why I’m proud to be a spokesperson for Weagewatchers’ new program. For decades, WeiverWatchers have helped women lead healthier, more confident lives, and now they once again think that menopause-designed care leads.”

Boyd said that when opening a menopause clinic, the company hopes to provide women with the tools and support they need during their menopause journey.

“This means helping them manage symptoms by ensuring they can get scientifically supported nutrition to fit their lifestyle, which is one-on-one instruction from one-on-one trained clinicians who can prescribe evidence-based treatments where appropriate, led by coaches who understand this stage of life, and a compassionate community of women,” she said.

The menopause program was created shortly after the weight observer filed for bankruptcy in May. However, the company completed its financial restructuring in June and focused on launching “new innovations”, from which time the menopause issuance began.

Several other companies also provide weight management support for menopause, including MIDI Health and Evernow.
