Zelensky says the person killed in Sumi bus attack is civilian

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday accused Russia of intentionally killing civilians and attacking a bus that killed nine people in the Sumi area.

“The dead are civilians. It is impossible for Russians not to know their target. This is intentional killing civilians.”

Ukrainian sources earlier said nine people were killed in the attack in Bilopillia, a small border town in Ukraine’s Sumi region.

Seven people were injured. Zelensky said they suffered burns and fractured bones.

The attack took place more than three years ago, Russia-Ukrainian talks aimed at ending the Ukrainian war.

Zelensky said he believes the attack is further evidence that Russia has no interest in a ceasefire and demands greater pressure on the form of sanctions on Moscow to avoid killing the killing.

British Foreign Minister David Lammy also condemned the attack.

Rami later posted on X, using another spelling of Turkey, posted on X saying, “Hours after Türkiye's at Türkiye, Russia was shocked by the attack on Sumy.”

“if [Russian President Vladimir] Putin is serious about peace, and Russia must agree to a full and immediate ceasefire, just like Ukraine. ” he said.
