Killed fire captain receives medical care before jail booking

California fire captain Rebecca Marodi received medical treatment last month in a family incident before being booked to jail after being arrested on weekends after being arrested.

Yolanda Marodi fled to Mexico after she found Captain Marodi stabbed to death in their home on February 17, and Yolanda fled to Mexico after she allegedly fled the country and was appointed as the main suspect in the murder later that day.

She was arrested Saturday at a hotel on Mexico Island near the southern border, according to the Baja California Citizen Security Secretariat.

Investigators are still working to gather more information to determine the circumstances and motivations behind Captain Marodi's death.

Yolanda was allegedly found in a surveillance video of arguing with Rebecca and beat her on the day of the fatal stabbing.

Detective said that a voice could be heard shouting, “Yuranda, I don't want to die.” The report read, Yolanda responded to Rebecca, saying, “You should have considered it before,” standing in front of Rebecca, with a knife in his hand. ”

The surveillance video captures Yolanda leaving the couple's home before Rebecca's mother arrives. Rebecca was found injured in neck, chest and back, which authorities said was consistent with the stabbing.

Yolanda was previously sentenced to 13 years in jail for her then-husband James Joseph Olejniczak Jr. before being released in 2013, according to a report by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Yolanda's former mother-in-law Nancy Hayworth called her “terror”, noting that her son's murder was very similar to Rebecca Marodi.

“Scary, horrible, she scared me,” Hayworth said. “She always has.”

Hayworth added that she only met Yolanda Marodi, but noted that she was “a little immature at times and, I think, she would be unhappy unless all the attention is under her attention.”
