Man arrested after allegedly trying to open the plane door twice – National

A man was arrested and charged at the emergency exit door of the Airasia X aircraft that was in two flights on Saturday.
According to the Australian Federal Police (AFP), the incident occurred on a plane killed in Sydney in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
After the man was allegedly escorted to a seat in the middle of the plane, he once again tried to open another emergency exit door and was then restricted by the plane's crew. During the interaction, the man allegedly attacked an employee of the plane.
“The man was then restricted by the crew and passengers, during which he attacked the airline staff,” police said.
Shadi Taiseer Alsaaydeh, 46, of Jordan, was charged with two counts of endangering the safety of the aircraft and one count of assaulting a cabin crew member. He was arrested by police when the flight landed at Sydney International Airport.
According to police, the maximum penalty for each offence is 10 years.
AFP detective performance. Davina Copelin said dangerous behaviors on the plane would not be tolerated.
“The actions of this person can have tragic consequences, and passengers and aircraft staff do not have to endure unruly, violent or dangerous behavior on the flight,” Coplin said.
“The AFP society has no hesitation to take action against people engaged in criminal acts on planes, especially if such acts have the potential to endanger the safety of passengers, crew members or the flight itself.”
AirAsia X said in a statement that its cabin crew took the necessary steps to protect everyone on the flight.
“At any time, the safety of the guests or crew is compromised,” the statement said. “AirAsia has zero tolerance policy for any form of inappropriate behavior.”
According to the ABC, in Alsaaydeh's bail application, his lawyer claimed he took two medications, fake aphrodisiac and a sleeping pill and drank alcohol before boarding the plane.

His lawyer claimed Alsaaydeh had no memory of the incident.
“I can't think of something more terrible than a 30,000-foot man trying to maneuver the exit door on the plane,” magistrate Anthony Spence said in court.
Alsaaydeh's lawyer told the court that he was engaged in nuclear waste management in the Jordanian government and went to Australia to meet with government officials.
“Mr. Alsad told me that the meeting he came here was tomorrow [April 7] “The six government officials involved and dialogue will be involved in the process of transporting these materials around Jordan,” the lawyer said.
Spence ruled that Alsaaydeh's bail was reluctant to approve Alsaaydeh's bail due to the seriousness of the crime and the reasoning of “an unacceptable risk to the community.”
Alsaaydeh will return to Downing Centre District Court in Sydney, Australia on April 8.
The incident happened when a plane from Bali, Indonesia to Melbourne, Australia was forced to turn around after passengers tried to open the door.
According to Jetstar, the plane turned around after an hour after trying to open the plane's door on March 31.
The airline added in a statement that local authorities in Bali removed passengers from the plane.
A passenger on the plane posted a video to social media, where the captain told the passengers about the situation.
“There is a lady on the back of the plane trying to physically open the door. She lifted the handle. We had a door warning at the front of the plane,” the voice told the passengers on the PA system.
“For safety reasons, it is possible that the doors on the plane are also… Unfortunately, the safest action is to get back here and return to land.”
